From the moment that the DC Extended Universe debuted in theaters with the release of Man of Steel, the franchise has enjoyed an extremely devoted fan base. For proof of that fact, all you have to do is recall that fans pushed for the release of the Snyder Cut for years and now the franchise’s followers are asking for the Snyderverse to continue. Despite all of that, there is still no doubt that the DCEU was derided by a lot of people for many years.

Then, when Wonder Woman was released in 2017, a lot of moviegoers seemed to feel differently about the DCEU seemingly overnight. It should go without saying that there were many reasons why Wonder Woman was such a hit with viewers, including the film’s extremely talented director Patty Jenkins. However, there is still no doubt that Gal Gadot’s popular portrayal of the titular character had a lot to do with Wonder Woman’s success. For that reason, Gadot garnered millions of fans, many of whom wanted to know more about her. For example, a lot of Gadot’s fans were curious when they learned she is married to a man named Yaron Varsano.

How Gal Gadot Met Her Husband, Yaron Varsano:

Once a couple is together for many years, it is easy to look back at the day or night they met as some kind of big deal. In reality, however, even though romantic comedies almost always include so-called meet-cutes, most people come across their mate for the first time at an everyday event. On the other end of the spectrum, Gal Gadot and her longtime husband Yaron Varsano first met at a truly remarkable event.

As Gal Gadot told Glamour, she met her husband Yaron Varsano during an event that has been described as a Coachella-like party in the Israeli desert. "We met nearly 10 years ago through mutual friends at this very strange party in the Israeli desert. It was all about yoga, chakras, and eating healthy — we didn't exactly find ourselves there, but we found each other."

While talking to Vogue, Gal Gadot’s husband Yaron Varsano described the headspace the couple was in when they met. "We were in a very unique laboratory—a desert retreat in the south of Israel. And both she and I were at a stage in our lives where we were thinking about what is love and what is a relationship. We started talking at 10 p.m., and we kissed at sunrise, and we held hands on the drive back to Tel Aviv. At that moment, we were just glued together. It was beautiful."

During the aforementioned Glamour interview, Gal Gadot also revealed that by their second date, Yaron Varsano was all in one their relationship and she was too even though she didn’t know that yet. "I think I [knew he was the one], but I was too young to get it. He did. He's 10 years older than me. He told me on our second date he was serious and wasn't going to wait more than two years to ask me to marry him. Fast-forward two years; he proposed. We were married in 2008."

Who Exactly Is Yaron Varsano?

Given the fact that Yaron Varsano is married to one of the biggest movie stars in the world, he has to be used to living in Gal Gadot’s shadow. Thankfully, based on the fact that Varsano routinely stands by Gadot’s side on red carpets and he has posed for photos celebrating Gadot’s Wonder Woman status on social media, he seems to be fine with that. More importantly, during a 2016 Glamour interview, Gadot revealed that Varsano is very supportive of all the traveling she has to do for her job.

“When Alma was around two, I was really anxious about how to travel with a child, moving her from one country to the other, all the different languages. It was my husband who told me: ‘Gal, think about what kind of a role model you want to be. If you want to show Alma that she can follow her dreams, that's what you should do, and we will figure out the logistics.’”

Of course, just because Yaron Varsano is willing to do what he must to support Gal Gadot’s career doesn’t mean his life wholly revolves around his wife’s career. After all, Yaron actually is a businessman who co-created and built the Varsano Hotel in Tel Aviv, Israel. Funnily enough, however, the Varsano hotel became what it is largely due to all of the travel that Yaron and Gal do for her career. After all, in 2011 Gadot told totallyjewish.com, Yaron’s hotel was inspired by somewhere the couple stayed when they were in Los Angeles presumably for her career.

"We wanted to feel at home, which is when we discovered these apartments within a hotel in Los Angeles. It became the inspiration for Yaron's hotel, The Varsano. I think that Yaron and I make a really good team. I understand his career and he understands mine. We help each other progress in all areas of life. We're both very career-driven." According to reports, after completing their structure, Yaron Varsano and his partners sold the hotel to the owner of London’s Chelsea Football Club.
